Every Malaysian deserves the right to charge their EV — at home.
But for many living in apartments and condos, that right is denied.
🛑 The Problem
EV ownership is growing. But thousands of Malaysians face unfair obstacles when trying to install chargers in their own parking bays — especially in high-rise buildings.
Joint Management Bodies (JMBs) and Management Corporations (MCs) often:
- Reject installation requests without clear reasons
- Lack knowledge or awareness of EV safety standards
- Delay approval for months — or don’t respond at all
Meanwhile, our existing laws don’t protect EV users from this discrimination.
⚡ What We’re Fighting For
We want the Malaysian government to guarantee the Right to Charge — making it easier and legally protected for EV owners to:
✅ Install a charger in their designated parking spot
✅ Share EV charging points in common areas
✅ Get faster, fairer approvals from their building’s JMB or MC

📧 Subject: Support the Right to Charge for EV Owners in High-Rise Buildings
Dear [YB / JMB Chairperson’s Name],
I am a resident of [Apartment Name / Area] and an EV owner who is currently unable to charge my car at home due to building restrictions and unclear policies.
I respectfully ask for your support in:
- Establishing clear legal protections for EV charging rights
- Providing fair access to install home EV chargers in stratified properties
- Creating incentives for building management bodies to support cleaner transport
This issue affects many urban Malaysians and holds back EV adoption — despite government goals for a greener future.
Please stand with us and support the Right to Charge Malaysia campaign.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
