Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Kia brand vehicles in Malaysia recently told the media that they are in the final stages of introducing the fourth-generation Kia Sorento.
The Sorento, which has had decent market success in Malaysia since the first generation was introduced in the early 2000s has been further refined and bold SUV that boasts sharper lines and uninterrupted surfaces for a more sculpted look.
The concept of “refined boldness” inspired the design, combining the robust and tough aesthetic of previous generations with a greater level of refinement, elegance, and sportiness.
The front of the Sorento features a new interpretation of Kia’s signature “tiger nose” grille, with a wider shape that wraps around the integrated headlamps. The headlamps also feature a new “tiger eyeline” LED daytime running light.
The proportions of the Sorento have been subtly adjusted to appear longer, with shorter front and rear overhangs and a longer wheelbase.
The interior of the Sorento offers a significant upgrade in quality and design, featuring premium materials and cutting-edge infotainment while maintaining the spaciousness and versatility that is characteristic of the Sorento.
The fourth-generation Sorento also offers a range of advanced technologies for connectivity, driver assistance, and infotainment.
Powertrain and seat configurations for the All-New Kia Sorento include a base 7-seater configuration with a 2.5L “Smartstream” 2WD gasoline engine, and a 6-seater configuration with a choice of the 2.5L “Smartstream” AWD petrol engine or the 2.2L “Smartstream” AWD diesel engine.
Both gasoline engine variants are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine variant is paired with Kia’s new 8-speed wet double-clutch transmission.
The All-New Kia Sorento is locally assembled at the Inokom Assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah and will soon be available for purchase in Malaysia with an estimated starting price range from RM 220,000 to RM 255,000.
